Partings showcases contemporary dances by four east coast choreographers. Each brings a different approach to the theme of letting go. “Fiddleheads” reflects scattering ashes at a funeral: dancers unfurl like ferns casting spores. In “The We Inside,” Gavaler embodies a woman suffering a stroke, letting go of the self she had been before. Each dance evokes a new surrender.
