What Capital Fringe does to support Participating artists and companies:

  • Offer consistent guidance, support, and communication to all participants’ main contacts.
  • Host a virtual ‘How to Fringe’ session with a self-producing manual for the Capital Fringe Festival.
  • Schedule one technical rehearsal, length double your production run time plus 30 minutes, and the requested number of shows (2 to 5 shows) with run times of 50 to 75 minutes.
  • Provide a venue with a minimum of 50 seats and basic lights and sound for live performances.
  • Assign a dedicated Venue Manager to manage the venue and venue box office staff, who will run the venue box office from 30 minutes before the first curtain time of the day to 15 minutes after the last curtain time of the day.
  • Supply a media list and Fringe Publicist and press team to assist in pitching your production to the press.
  • Market the Fringe Festival as a whole, including sending out festival press releases, advertising in the DMV area, partnering with organizations to expand and deepen the reach for all participants, and creating events for participants to pitch and market their productions.
  • Create a unique show page with a ticket-buying click-through on capitalfringe.org.
  • Grant access and retention to show patron and box office data.
  • Allocate 70% of your productions’ ticket revenue to you (tickets priced at $15).
  • Require all participants to be fully vaccinated.
