Brian Settles Trio
Saxophonist and composer Brian Settles has established himself as a rising force with a long-term artistic vision. Settle performs regularly and has recorded with some of modern jazz’s leading groups, including Jonathan Finlayson Sextet and Quartet, Chad Taylor Trio, Mary Halvorson’s Code Girl, Michael Formanek’s Ensemble Kolossus, and bands led by Jason Moran and Joe Chambers; Settles has also accompanied the likes of Gil Scott-Heron and Tomas Stanko

Second Set. – 8:30pm – 9:30pm Susan Alcorn
Susan Alcorn is one of the world’s premiere exponents of her instrument, Susan Alcorn has taken the pedal steel guitar far beyond its traditional role in country music. Having first paid her dues in Texas country & western bands, she began to expand the vocabulary of her instrument through her study of 20th century classical music, visionary jazz, and world music’s. “Wild and beautiful and disturbing and downright bloody odd in turn. Twin Jude (they/them/theirs), is a Portal Being (self-existent gateway to the divine and budding ethnobotanist co- creating sounds + frequencies that birth new conditions and realities for all of life in the hereafter. Unbound by illusions of oppressive time constructs, Twin Jude explores space freely, reaching through lapping, layered realms of the future, past, and present as one.
