16th Annual Capital Fringe Festival Honors Audience Favorites after
Ten Days of Performances
43 Productions; 194 Individual Shows
Thank you to the thousands of Fringe theater-goers who took a chance on the unexpected by attending the 2023 Capital Fringe Festival. Some performances were sour, some were sweet, but all were traditionally Fringe as vacant office buildings and a traditional theatre became Fringe theaters and many participants took to the stage for the first time.
The Capital Fringe Festival sold 50% of available tickets (8,234) to 43 productions and collaborated with 350 artists, cast and crew. We are thrilled to return 70% of the total ticket revenue ($83,908) to participating artists (average payout of $2,097). And, we are grateful to report record donations brought in during this year’s Festival of over $14K!
Audience Awards voting hit a record total of 1,730 votes. The Best of Fest Award went to “Who Did It? An improvised murder mystery,” which also won Best Comedy.
